About K1 Circuit Whiteland

K1 Circuit Whiteland, historically known as Whiteland Raceway Park, is America’s oldest continuously operating go-kart track.  Established in 1958 by Don Hohlt and William Lutz, our track is one of the very first purpose-built tracks for karting. The original track design featured an oval connected to a road course. This challenging course proved popular enough to attract manufacturers and engine builders to use Whiteland as a proving ground to test new products!

For decades, Whiteland enjoyed success as home to nationally sanctioned kart races and earned the “Master Track” designation by the World Karting Association!

However, after a series of owner changes and years of neglect, the track fell into a state of disrepair. In fact, the track came dangerously close to bulldozers tearing it down in 2018! Thankfully, former IndyCar driver and team owner Sarah Fisher and her husband, Andy O’Gara, purchased the track, saving it from destruction. Along with their business partners, Wink and Libba Hartman, Fisher and O’Gara put millions into the track’s restoration. This secured its future as a legitimate karting track.

Today, the team behind K1 Speed and the original K1 Circuit in Winchester, California, own and manage Whiteland. And we share the same passion as the previous owners. We’ll continue to push progress for this legendary track to restore its place as one of the best karting venues in the country. There’s still plenty of history to be made here at Whiteland, so visit our track today and become part of its story.
